Johnson County CEO Program

CEO stands for Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities. Johnson County CEO includes Goreville High School and Vienna High School. Students from both schools will meet off-site at a local business every day for class from 7:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. and earn two course credits from the high schools, but since the class is also dual credit, they will also earn 6 hours of college credit. Senior students from both schools apply to the program and are accepted. While in the program, students will visit over 40 local businesses and hear from at least 40 guest speakers who are business owners. Students will also participate in a class business and then start their own business. The Johnson County CEO Board consists of active, engaged community leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to the operational oversight of the local CEO Program. They are in charge of investor recruitment and care, student recruitment and selection, facilitator support, and more.
